About Dr. Bartkoski
Hi everyone! I'm Scott Bartkoski, and thank you for exploring Holly Springs Direct Primary Care. I'm very excited to share what I think is a great opportunity for patients and their health journey. Because I truly want to develop a long term meaningful relationship with my patients, here's a bit about me to help you decide if you want to partner up!
I love taking care of patients and working with them on their health goals, but I realized I couldn't spend the time I wanted to with each patient in the traditional model of healthcare to make the kind of life changing outcomes I felt my patients deserved, which is why I founded Holly Springs Direct Primary Care, PLLC, the first physician based DPC office in Holly Springs. With this approach, I'm able to use the tools I've gained to best maximize long term outcomes and help patients live much happier, healthier, and longer lives. I have a passion for delivering high quality, accessible, and affordable primary care and weight management services and this is by far the best way to do that. Because I am free from insurance contracts and large health organization bureaucracy, I can finally practice the way that medicine was intended, with just you (the patient) and me (the doctor) doing what's best for YOU. I am able to offer extended visits for EVERY patient and I now finally have the time to spend with patients making sure all their concerns are taken care of. Instead of seeing 25 patients per day and having a patient panel size of 2,000-3,000 like in the normal primary care office, DPC allows me to see only a fraction of that, which allows for a much more personal experience for my patients.

Dr. Bartkoski went to Missouri State University where he received a bachelor's of science in Cell and Molecular Biology with minor concentrations in Chemistry and Biomedical Science. After college, he went to medical school at the University of Missouri and stayed there for residency training in Family and Community Medicine, which is continuously ranked as one of the top programs in the country. After getting board certified in family medicine in 2016, he worked in the traditional model of primary care for several years, before changing course to the direct primary care world.
He has served as a faculty member at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine and enjoys teaching students of all types within the healthcare system. Dr. Bartkoski is humbled to have received the PRC 5 star award and is a published author in the journal American Family Physician.
In addition to being board certified in Family Medicine, he is also board certified in Lifestyle Medicine as well as Obesity Medicine. Dr. Bartkoski enjoys utilizing the tools he's learned through all of this training to work with patients as a team to improve their overall health and reach goals that might not have been possible otherwise. He views his role as a physician as one that involves providing advice and working as a partner with his patients, but also believes in patient autonomy and the concept that patients are ultimately in charge of their own healthcare.
Dr. Bartkoski met his wife Allison in 2006 and they've been together ever since. They have 5 young children, and together they enjoy spending time at the beach and essentially serving as a taxi service for all sorts of kid activities!
